Scholarship Program
Leonard R. Morfeld Scholarship
The Scholarship was established in 1995 in memory of Leonard R. Morfeld who was an integral part of the Crowley community. He served on the Board of Directors for the Bank of Crowley and was the owner of Morfeld Real Estate.
The 1995 Board of Directors of the Crowley Area Chamber of Commerce initiated the scholarship and established criteria for the recipients. Funds for the scholarship were created by raffling off a new pick-up that was donated to the chamber. These proceeds were invested to collect interest over the years as scholarships are awarded. Today, the chamber actively promotes the Leonard Morfeld Memorial Scholarship through its fundraising activities.
This scholarship is awarded to senior students attending a school in the Crowley Independent School District who have applied and meet the specified qualifications.
Currently, the Crowley Area Chamber of Commerce awards a minimum $1,000 scholarship to one senior from each High School within the Crowley Independent School District.
